Partnership pairs Nanostone’s CUF|Shield™ ceramic modules with Pureflow’s 50-year design-build expertise—live product launch at ACE2025 on June 10 at 2:00pm
Boston, MA – June 9, 2025 – Nanostone Water, the global leader in advanced ceramic ultrafiltration, and Pureflow Filtration Div., a pioneer in engineered water-treatment systems since 1973, today unveiled a strategic partnership to tackle North America’s toughest municipal and industrial water challenges.
Under the agreement, Pureflow Filtration Div. will integrate Nanostone’s CUF|Shield™ ceramic membrane modules, proven at more than 150 installations worldwide, into its turnkey and tailored filtration platforms. Pureflow’s portfolio spans flow rates from 20 gpm to 10,000 gpm and specializes in removing heavy metals, PFAS, radionuclides, and organics. Together, the companies will deliver comprehensive “pretreatment-to-polish” solutions that reduce chemical use, cut downtime, and future-proof water plants against emerging contaminants.
“Utilities need pretreatment systems that perform reliably through challenging water conditions, persistent biofouling, and rigorous cleaning cycles,” said Jürgen von Hollen, Chief Executive Officer of Nanostone Water. “By integrating our CUF|Shield™ ceramic technology with Pureflow’s five decades of system-engineering excellence, we give customers a single, accountable partner and a filtration backbone engineered to deliver best-in-class performance solutions.”
Patrick Kennedy, President of Pureflow Filtration Div., added, “Nanostone’s ceramic membranes complement our commitment to tailor-made, high-reliability treatment systems. Together we can offer clients predictable water quality, lower operating costs, and a clear path to meeting today’s, and tomorrow’s regulatory demands, even as water conditions shift.”
Why This Alliance Matters
- Resilience to high-solids and variable feeds: CUF|Shield™ tolerates pH 2–12, temperatures up to 45 °C, and powers through aggressive fouling loads that arise from storm surges, seasonal runoff, warm-weather algal blooms, recycle streams, sudden industrial upsets—among other challenges—scenarios where conventional treatment trains struggle to keep pace.
- Smaller footprint for space-constrained sites: The ceramic system merges multiple pretreatment steps into one compact system, freeing valuable floor space and lowering capital cost.
- Comprehensive contaminant control: Pureflow’s specialty solutions target arsenic, PFAS, radionuclides and heavy metals; protected by ceramic ultrafiltration, these systems run longer, cleaner and at steadier flows.
- Lower operating cost and greener operations: Ceramic modules last more up to three times longer than conventional UF membranes and can cut cleaning-chemical consumption by 50 percent, while Pureflow’s 24/7 service network keeps plants producing water consistently and reliably.
Product Launch at ACE2025 (Anaheim Convention Center)
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Aaron Chockla, Nanostone’s Commercial Director for North America, and his team on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 2:00pm Pacific time zone at the Pureflow Filtration Div. booth to discuss fast-track pilot opportunities.
