Nanostone Receives 2026 AURA Award for Sustainable Water Treatment Technology
Nanostone Water receives the 2026 AURA Award for ceramic ultrafiltration technology with a 38% lower carbon footprint, reduced chemical use, and longer membrane life.
August 12, 2026

Nanostone Water GmbH has been awarded the 2026 AURA Award by the Ministry for Science, Energy, Climate Protection and Environment of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The award recognizes companies whose innovations deliver measurable contributions to sustainability, resource efficiency, and climate protection.
An independent lifecycle analysis submitted with the application confirmed a 38 percent lower carbon footprint compared to conventional filtration approaches. In operation, Nanostone's ceramic ultrafiltration membranes require less energy and fewer treatment chemicals, while lasting significantly longer than traditional alternatives, reducing the total number of module replacements over a plant's lifetime. The latest module generation, CUF|Flow, delivers up to 40 percent greater treatment capacity within the same installed footprint, lowering the concrete, land, and infrastructure requirements for new facilities.
Minister Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann presented the award on July 17 at Nanostone's production site in Halberstadt, Germany, where all ceramic UF membranes are engineered and manufactured.
