Boston, MA – January 16, 2025 –Nanostone Water, Inc., a pioneer in advanced ceramic-based filtration solutions, is pleased to announce over 70% year-over-year revenue growth in 2024, more than 50% growth in new applications, and a 3-fold expansion of its global partner network. These milestones underscore the relevance of the company’s strategic focus on “Tackling Challenging Water” and “Maximizing Limited Space,” which reflects the real-world challenges faced by water treatment operators and resonates strongly with customers and partners, driving momentum for an equally ambitious 2025.
Nanostone’s ceramic ultrafiltration (UF) technology is now processing millions of liters of water daily at over 120 customer sites worldwide. The company’s 2024 success was supported by its participation in Singapore International Water Week and other key events, where it established critical partnerships to address pressing water challenges. Additionally, a €30 million capital injection from True North Venture Partners in April 2024 has enabled Nanostone to scale commercial operations and accelerate its innovation roadmap aimed at delivering advanced water treatment solutions that address the complex and pressing challenges faced in both municipal and industrial water treatment applications.
Water treatment facilities today struggle with fluctuating water quality, space limitations driven by urban growth, and aging infrastructure that often can’t keep pace. Addressing these issues often requires extensive pretreatment processes that are both resource- and space-intensive. Conventional UF membranes frequently fall short in these scenarios, necessitating frequent maintenance, reducing operational reliability, and shortening their lifespan.
“Our strategy of ‘Tackling Challenging Water’ and ‘Maximizing Limited Space’ reflects the real-world challenges faced by water treatment operators,” said Jürgen von Hollen, CEO of Nanostone Water. “Challenging water encompasses sources with high variability in turbidity, organics, and temperature, often exacerbated by stormwater runoff and warm-water algal blooms. These conditions strain existing facilities and make conventional solutions insufficient. While additional pretreatment steps are often needed, the space required can be prohibitive, particularly in dense urban areas.
“Our ceramic membranes provide a critical alternative. By simplifying pretreatment and operating efficiently within compact footprints, we offer solutions that address challenging, fluctuating source water qualities even in areas where expansion simply isn’t feasible.”
Building on its success, Nanostone is preparing to launch new products in 2025 that directly target the critical challenges of water treatment. These innovations are designed to advance the company’s focus on “Tackling Challenging Water” and “Maximizing Limited Space,” offering water treatment operators sustainable, space-efficient, and resilient solutions for handling deteriorating water sources.
“The challenges we’re addressing are immediate and urgent,” Jürgen von Hollen added. “Water can’t wait. Neither can we.”
